Well we made it. Dr. Smith started my induction on Wednesday at 6 PM. After much confusion (we didn't get to see the Dr. Smith on Tuesday) they started the process. Each treatment of cervidil took 12 hours. It didn't work twice. Finally the 3rd treatment (36 hours later) they start pectocin and things started to move. They decided to break my water (Dr. Smith wouldn't do it due to extra amniotic fluid, but when Dr. Jergins took over he wanted to get the ball rolling). Things got really bad for a little while. My contractions went from a 70 to a 140 and I thought I was going to die. The anesthesiologist could not come right away. Then when she did, she couldn't get the epidural in. They had to call the head of anesthesia to come and do it. Finally I thought I was in heaven. Daddy said that I had a small reaction to some of the medication and it relaxed me so much I kept forgetting to breath. They had to put me on Oxygen. It was only 4 or 5 hours later that Dr. Jergins came in and said, "OK, who is going to stay?" I said, "Stay for what?" Apparantly he was talking about delivery. I pushed for 24 minutes and Jocelyn was born at 3:24 PM. I have stitches in unspeakable places and I have a general soreness about me. But, I feel OK and they baby is perfect. Breastfeeding has been more challenging this time around, but we are trying to make it work.
